Publish your stallion
The community stud book is for public stallion listings only, private studs cannot be listed.
1. Connect Google Drive sync
Open Estate Data → Sync & export in the popup, tick Sync this browser with Google Drive, and sign in with Google. Your listings and estate profile are published under that Google account (note: your Google account is never published publicly). You need to keep drive sync enabled to use the stud book so HRToolkit can publish and refresh your listings; disconnecting will stop sync on that browser and remove your stallions from the stud book.
2. Save your stallion and list from Horse Reality
If you havn't saved the stallion to your Estate Database before then you will need to visit his profile on Horse Reality first so HRToolkit saves his record to your Estate Database. This happens automatically if auto-save is turned on, or you can manually save by clicking Save Current Horse in the popup.
When you put a saved stallion up for public stud on Horse Reality (or edit his existing public stud listing) HRToolkit will add a List on HRTools stud book checkbox underneath the four price fields so you can quickly publish your stallion. Ticking will reveal options to show public notes on his listing and offer a live foal guarantee (with optional LFG terms). When you submit the form and Horse Reality returns you to My studs listing page, HRToolkit auto captures his stud fees and publishes his listing for you.
3. List and customise from your Estate Database
You can also list a stallion and customise his background and other details from your Estate Database in HRToolkit. If your stallion is already standing at public stud on Horse Reality, visit your My studs page on Horse Reality once so HRToolkit captures his public stud fees. Then open his record in the Estate Database and scroll to Breeding details in the Overview card, where you can switch on HRTools stud book (or switch off at any time to remove him from the stud book).
Click Edit listing to open the Stud book listing modal.
- Stud fee: Stud fees come automatically from your public Horse Reality stud listings so they always match the game. To change a stallion's fee, click your stud listing on HR ↗ to edit his stud listing on Horse Reality.
- Public notes: Tick Show public notes on your listing to display the public notes from his Horse Reality profile on his stud book listing.
- Live Foal Guarantee: Tick Offered and enter your LFG Terms if you offer a live foal guarantee. This is a good spot to let users know how they should contact you to redeem.
- Background: Choose a background for his portrait from the Stable Society community gallery. Your favourited backgrounds appear at the top, and you can search by title or creator.
4. Your estate profile and listings
Open Estate Data → Stud listings in the popup or the top navigation bar to manage your estate page and all of your listed stallions in one place:
- Estate profile: Add your Discord handle and a public estate note to appear on your estate profile page. You can find your estate profile by clicking Your estate page ↗ in the subheader.
- Listings: Every stallion you currently have listed along with his breed, stud fee and LFG status, with quick links to Edit listing in your database or View listing ↗ on the stud book.
5. Keeping listings alive and up to date
A listing stays live on the stud book for 30 days from the last time HRToolkit refreshed it. HRToolkit will automatically keep your listings active for you so long as you use HRToolkit within 14 days before the expiry. Any edits you make to a listed stallion's record, stud fee, or estate profile publish within a couple of minutes.
If you are making a lot of incremental updates or listing many stallions you may see an error telling you there was too many updates, don't worry, this is just our server giving you a soft time out, once the countdown is done all your updates will be batched and sent over.
HRToolkit will auto forward any updates to a stud so long as they are collected in your database. This includes if his conformation score change or you do a new colour test. What HRToolkit can not update is if he is sold. If you sell a stallion that is listed please take him down otherwise your listing may get reported if he is no longer for stud.
What a stud book listing shows
A stallion's listing shows:

- The game picture (where there is one) and your selected Stable Society background
- Stud fees, LFG status and terms if set
- Public notes if shared
- Conformation, breed total, and competition scores
- Conformation grades, genetic potential, discipline figures, and health grades
- Three-generation pedigree and COI
- Tested colours and any hidden colours you recorded
On your estate profile page, we also show all of your active stud listings, a link to your Horse Reality profile, your public estate note, and your Discord handle when provided. Your Google account details are never shown. You can see the privacy policy for more information.
